Callee Helping Out

Image
I was sorting stuff in my room. Callee supervised, played, stalked and otherwise demanded attention. Karen, I think she wants me to stop with the photos already but when she went up on the other shelf in the closet, it really needed some photos for you. One of her chosen spots to sit This is MY chair. Open Drawers Demand Exploration Should I explore up there Wall inspection Shelf Inspection Chasing Something Should I jump? Surveying her kingdom Contentment Kisses Ready to attack the belt The belt is subdued

2007 $10 Quilt

Image
One of this year's $10 Quilt at Hobby Horse is a Patchwork Sampler . The classes are the 4th Saturday of the Month from January to June and September to November. The assignment for this month was the center block and its border. I pulled these fabrics to begin with: The center block is now done and ready for next week's class: The Christmas cakes are also all wrapped up and ready to tuck into a cold spot. The crumbs that fell off were tasty.

Miss Callee's new hidey hole

Image
I finally had the camera on the same floor as Miss Callee when she decided to curl up in the linen closet. I'm still not sure how she gets up there but she looks comfortable on arrival: She didn't really think I need to take her picture for you...

Playing with new Toy

Image
I treated myself to a tablet this week. I've been having fun learning what I can do with it. Tonight I played a bit in paint and drew this picture. For a first attempt and 15 minutes, I'm pleased. The pen is Callee approved -- she checked it out will I was trying to select something in photo elements. She is a helpful pussy cat.

Fabric Portrait finished!

Image
Last years Quilt University class, called Fabric Portraits project, just needs the hand sewing on the binding, a hanging sleeve and label to be 100% finished. I started with this picture of Karen on our ice berg watching trip in Newfoundland in 2002 The photo was posterized to make a pattern then transformed into fabric.

This is a photo my sister took of me at Leeds Castle last year. I used it for the vignette and the first portrait attempt. An oval selection with feather set to 100. Picture turning into a portrait. This is a photo of my sister at Augustine Abbey in Canterbury. I used this photo to try another portrait. Portrait attempt 2 I used the scattered rose brush and the copper gradient fill.
